Total SuperMoon Eclipse
Be "Totally GuruVee" and watch this lunar event!! Perfect timing before our
Mystery GuruVee Event on Wednesday the 30th!!
On the evening of Sunday, September 27th, the moon will once again become immersed in the Earth's shadow, resulting in a total lunar eclipse — the fourth such event
in the last 17 months; and this event will be during the Harvest Moon (Full Moon closest to the September Equinox).
A Super Moon is a New or Full Moon which occurs when the moon is at or near it's closest approach to earth in a given orbit (about 7% larger; 4-6 super moons on average within a year).
The Sept. 27 event is therefore being called a "supermoon eclipse." The last such eclipse happened in 1982, and the next won't occur until 2033.
A Blood Moon is used to describe the moon's reddish color that is caused by sunlight refracting through the earth's atmosphere on it's way to light the moon's surface.
Partial Begins at: 8:07 pm CST
Total Eclipse Begins 9:11 pm CST
Ends at: 10:23 pm CST
